I hate nights like this. I ate too early, so now I’m munching on a protein bar. My alarm will go off in 5 hours. I can’t get comfortable. My right knee and shin both ache.
Ugh.

Ugh.
You come teach me to swim and I’ll teach you to ride a bike. Deal?
do a tri.
Must learn to swim first, though.
Important first step.
Sorta.
It looks like gravy. It has the consistency of gravy. However, it has no real flavor.
That’s ok. This paleo thing has a bit of a learning curve and I’m working on it.
It’ll still go well on fried chicken.
If I’m going to be alone forever I might as well not go broke in the process. I could put that money towards something fitness related so that, even though I’ll die alone, I’ll be fit and alone, dying of nothing.
Coconut oil, almond flour, arrowroot, and coconut milk do NOT make paleo gravy. They don’t even make paleo sludge. They make…something that didn’t smell bad but wasn’t going on my fried chicken (that got an egg bath, almond flour coating, and fried in coconut oil, btw).
So, off to the internet I go in search of paleo gravy recipes. Fried chicken needs gravy.
Not sure how it’ll go with my sweet potato fries.
I’m not a fish eater. At all.
However, while at the grocery store earlier, I bought some salmon.
Someone tell me how to cook it where I’ll not dread eating it?
The title page. And I’m not sure I’m keeping the title.
I am so screwed.
But it can wait.
Make it a great day!
Now that I don’t eat regular French fries, baked sweet potato fries are my favorite side dish when I’m serving burgers at home. These aren’t quite as crispy as fried spuds but they’re tasty and easy to make. Plus, you can totally switch up the seasonings and your taste buds won’t get bored.
Get the simple recipe after the jump!
We are admitting pregnant women like crazy! What the heck happened in Houston and the surrounding area 9 months ago that people had nothing else to do??
Holy crap, y’all. I can’t even begin to explain how happy this makes me.
Today’s WOD was Fight Gone Bad.
Three 5-minute rounds, with a 1-minute break between rounds. In this workout you move from each of five stations after a minute of max effort.
The stations are:
Wall Ball Shots (m:20lb,f:14lb)(m:10ft target,f:8ft target)
Sumo Deadlift High-pull (m:75lb,f:55lb)
Box Jumps (20in box)
Push Press (m:75lb,f:55lb)
Row (for Calories)
My box jumps were actually step ups, but I was told I could count it as rx’d!
I managed a score of 157, which wasn’t as high as my first time of doing it (216), but the weight was much higher. And, this time there was no need for my inhaler or the almost overwhelming desire to puke. Win again!
I thought I made up the name bagle for Annabelle.
Apparently not.
I called my doctor’s office to see if, if I went to the clinic closer to work, could I get in to see a podiatrist sooner than August 5th. I’ve got a 24 mile bike ride on Aug 6th and don’t want my feet all f’d up for it.
The lady looked, and the soonest I could get in down here was August 16th. I think I’ll keep my original appointment, thank you!
Just a little bit ago, I called to make an appointment for Annabelle (the dog) for itching. They can get her in tomorrow afternoon.
Why is it easier to get a vet appointment than a people appointment?? Can I ask the vet to look at my feet?
And I’m totally telling them, when I fill out the paperwork, that she’s a bagle when they ask what breed she is. There’s some beagle, there seems to be some bassett, and beassett sounds kinda odd, so she’s a bagle. Maybe I can make my own breed - like labradoodles and puggles.
Back in June I got a speeding ticket while trying to get to work one morning. I was speeding, I knew it, the officer knew it, there was no discussion, but he did drop 4mph off the clocked speed.
My court date was scheduled for July 28 and the cost of the ticket was $195.
I could have taken defensive driving, sat through an 8 hour class, after working for 8 hours, and still paid $110 plus the cost of defensive driving.
This morning, I just got online and paid the full cost of the ticket.
Yes, I know the ticket will more than likely go on my license. Yes, I realize my insurance company might see it. I don’t really care. At this moment. I might care next year.
Does that make me lazy?
Biked yesterday - 6.82 miles in 49 minutes. I did take a pit stop at Sonic. It was 95 degrees out - I needed a break. My butt was already sore from the ride the other day to get new tires. Now it’s really sore. Not sure how it’s going to handle 24 miles.
I wonder if it’s too late to move down to the family 14 miles?
Woke up this morning around 3:30 and was planning on getting up and running. But, we’re in a heavily wooded area with trails. But those trails aren’t lit. I don’t know how safe it is to run in the dark by myself. So, I got up and found a streaming yoga video on Netflix and did that.
It means I still have to go to the gym after work and run on the treadmill. And then crossfit.
I’m already tired just thinking about it.
