Just heard a good friend passed away today. Long battle with cancer. I’m glad he’s no longer in pain, and I hope his family finds some peace. He was a very loving man. Invited me to spend a weekend with them without having known me other than online. That generosity allowed me to see my best friend who I hadn’t seen in years. I will miss you, Kent.

Think I found my new Friday routine
Left work a little early. Hit the pool for 450 yards in 18 minutes - yeah, I’m slow, I know, I just aim to not drown. After swimming, I took my first hot yoga class. I feel so much better. Taking my daddy out a week from today
Just found out his favorite baseball team is playing the Astros on April 3rd and 4th.  So, I got him tickets for dugout level, 3rd baseline, 25th row behind the White Sox.   Just maintaining my place as “the good daughter.”

My mom

Quick recap of yesterday's ride
Then off to do homework. Got to the site about 10 minutes or so before the event started.  Changed shoes, got the bike off the rack, clipped in, rode for a minute or two around the parking lot, then found my way to the start. I opted for the short route, because the options were 11 miles, 50 miles, and 78ish miles.  My bike saddle muscles aren’t ready for 50 miles yet so 11 it was. ...

Found out we didn’t have a drug they needed for a bleeding patient in OR. Called around, found some, left to get it. Realized while running into the hospital that I grabbed my keys, my phone, and my sunglasses. Did not grab my purse with my drivers license or insurance or anything. Fly Paper for Freaks - that's me

I was supposed to do a 25 minute ride yesterday and a 12 minute run today. I suppose they’ll loosen up some as they get broken in?  This was my first time falling with the clips - last time was just the toe cages.   I was trying to get moving this time, actually.  Couldn’t get the 2nd foot clipped in and couldn’t get the clipped foot unclipped and couldn’t stop the bike from going to the clipped side. Bike fitted
Clip-less pedals on. Cleats on shoes. Seat raised. Handlebars lowered. Lots of practice clipping in and out on the trainer. Got home, unracked the bike, put on the shoes, pushed the thoughts of Jonathan’s wife breaking her leg on the clips, and rode. No falling over. No issues. Stayed inside the apartment parking lot.
